Our Commitment to Positive Change

Greenhouse coffee is committed to helping support the community that we're lucky to call home - so we donate a meaningful percentage of our proceeds towards important local causes. 10% of all proceeds are donated to nonprofit and tribal organizations helping feed and house our neighbors in the greater Seattle area.

We're also committed to improving economic stability for farmers, seasonal workers, and regional cooperatives in producing countries and prioritize environmental sustainability practices and safe working conditions when selecting coffees to offer. We only work with trusted importers and suppliers who demonstrate the same commitment.

Taste the world!

There's an amazing amount of coffee out there, and most of us who drink coffee every day haven't even scratched the surface.

Did you know that coffee grows in more than 45 different countries around the world, and that each country contains anywhere from 2 to a couple dozen distinct growing regions that each bring their own unique flavors? How about that there are over 100 unique species of coffee plant found around the world? Take the one we're most familiar with, Coffea Arabica - it has dozens of genetic varieties that each taste different and are capable of producing completely different cups of coffee. And we haven't even started to get into soil compositions, rainfall amounts, the effects of elevation and nighttime temperatures, post-harvest processing methods, and more... When you start to think about the combinations, it can feel overwhelming or even downright hopeless to try to find coffees that you love in a sea of way too many choices. Let Greenhouse Coffee be your friendly and knowledgeable guide on your journey of coffee discovery!

Our promise to you is all the variety & all the flavor of the specialty coffee industry - without being pretentious, judgmental, or inaccessible about the whole thing. This is the best coffee in the world, roasted to scientific precision by hand in small batches, customized and selected just for you, and shipped straight to your door so you can enjoy it whenever you want in the comfort of your home.

Greenhouse coffee's mission is to help you taste it all, find your favorites, and learn something new every day along the way. Every coffee is selected and personalized just for you, and you'll never receive the same coffee twice unless you request it! We'll teach you how to brew the best possible cups of coffee at home without trying very hard, because coffee doesn't have to be a huge time commitment and you don't have to invest in thousands of dollars of gear at home to make cafe-quality (or better) coffee.

Support a small business that cares deeply about your individual experience and your satisfaction, not a giant national brand that can't and won't focus on you as an individual! Because of our scale, we are able to focus on sourcing only quality coffee that's grown and shipped sustainably + we can ensure that above-average prices are paid to producers. Economic stability for farmers, migratory workers, and entire communities in producing countries depends on fairer prices being paid for coffee in the years to come. We all joke about how expensive coffee seems to be getting at cafes, and yes, some of that can be attributed to corporate greed and mismanaged spending; But there is a real positive trend in the coffee industry of paying farmers and cooperatives a higher price for raw coffee beans that are grown responsibly, processed carefully, and which have the potential to taste amazing. There is a very large amount of manual labor and a meticulous level of detail needed in origin countries to produce the best tasting coffees in the world, and commodity prices (this is the price that large producers like Folgers, Maxwell House, Keurig, McDonalds, Nespresso, etc.. pay for lower quality bulk coffee) have never been sustainable in terms of supporting the folks who work the hardest to produce a drink that we all love. Here at Greenhouse coffee, we strive to offer affordable coffee that everyone can enjoy, while also providing context and hopefully changing a few minds along the way about why prices can and should continue to grow relative to what most people pay for coffee today.
